In October 2016, I was selected as a Featured Artist for the RAW Artists Showcase, a recognition that represents more than a single exhibition—it reflects an early convergence of art, strategy, and intentional self-branding.
The art show spotlighted creatives with a strong sense of visual identity and thematic consistency. The exhibition emphasized the importance of motifs, repeating symbols, techniques, and narratives that make work recognizable and memorable. This philosophy closely aligns with how strong brands are built.
The Featured Work
For the show, I exhibited mixed media artwork combining stencil work and spray paint, resulting in bold, vivid imagery anchored by clean, precise lines. The work balanced structure and spontaneity, an approach that continues to define my creative process.
Key characteristics of the featured pieces included:
- Stencil-based precision to create clarity and repeatable visual language
- Spray paint layering for depth, movement, and expressive energy
- High-contrast color palettes designed for immediate visual impact
- Clean linework that reinforces intention and control
This body of work explored how visual discipline can amplify emotion rather than limit it. This idea extends naturally into branding and storytelling.
Why Marketing Yourself as an Artist Matters
Being featured at RAW underscored a truth that has shaped my career ever since: art does not exist in a vacuum. Visibility, positioning, and narrative are just as important as craft.
As artists, marketing ourselves means:
- Treating our work as a living brand, not isolated pieces
- Communicating a clear point of view across visuals, language, and presentation
- Creating cohesion so audiences recognize our work instantly
- Taking ownership of how our story is told
This mindset transforms exhibitions into platforms, and creative output into long-term equity.
From Featured Artist to Studio Practice
That perspective now lives at the core of V. Studio where my goal is to leverage brand strategy, literary craft, and curated artistic expression to create lasting change. As a marketing expert and published author, I approach art with the same rigor I bring to brand development and narrative design.
Every project—visual, written, or strategic—is created with intention:
- Art that communicates
- Storytelling that positions
- Design that resonates and endures
Being named a Featured Artist at the RAW Art Show in Salt Lake City was an early affirmation that creativity and strategy are not separate disciplines, they are most powerful when they work together.
This exhibition remains a defining moment in my portfolio, representing the foundation of the multidisciplinary, brand-driven approach that continues to shape my work today.
